C) NEAREST RAILWAY STATION: Shiblun Halt [1 Km from Belun] in Katwa-Azimgunj section.

PLACES OF INTEREST

1. "ATTAHAS" [One of the "Satipith" ] Around 15 Km from Belun, Attahas is a holy Hindu pilgrimage and home to thousands of Open-Billed Storks and Fruit Bats.

2. " KALYANPUR GHAT"- An ideal place for watching critically endangered Gangetic Dolphin.

3. " SNAKE VILLAGE - MUSHARU" - In this village, about 35 km from Belun, venomous cobras are revered as deities and coexist
peacefully with humans.

4. "NAYACHAR" [River Island on Ganges] - Approximately 20km from Belun, this island in the Ganges is a pristine habitat for numerous migratory birds and other wildlife species

HOW TO REACH BELUN

A) BY TRAIN:

1st Leg- Howrah To Katwa [144 Km]

1. Express Train Howrah-Maldah Town Intercity Express, departs from Howrah at 15.15 hrs, arrives Katwa at 18.30 hrs, or

2. Local Train (stops at all stations between Howrah and Katwa) Runs between Howrah and Katwa approximately every 90 minutes average journey time is three hours 45 minutes

2nd Leg- Katwa To Shiblun Halt [10 Km]
Local train departs from Katwa station to reach Shiblun station (2nd station from Katwa in Azimganj section)

B) BY CAR:

From Kolkata to Belun via Burdwan (distance 175km) average journey time is three and half hours.
